okay, but could be better, April 15, 2011 By rachel caesar (South Dakota) - See all my reviews This review is from: Shark� 2-in-1 Vac then Steam Vacuum & Steam Mop Complete hard floor cleaning system! With storage tray and 8 microfiber pads (Kitchen) this DOESN'T vacuum edges well, and the vacuum is shrill. so if you have any sort of edges (around table or sofa legs for example), you will still have to sweep on a regular basis; it's not as thorough as a broom can be. if you have a lot of pet hair (or long hair that finds its way all over the house), this might be preferable to a broom.
the steam mop works equally well. it seems that my dry messes are somehow concentrated around the edges of my rooms, while my sticky, wet messes are in open floor. again, the shark still doesn't do edges well, but i prefer the steam mop to a regular mop.
though the shark is lightweight enough to easily lift with one hand, mopping can be a little slow-going because of the friction the pad meets with the floor. you must move slowly over the floor in order for it to clean well.
all in all, i think it does what's advertised, but if i could do it again, i would stick with a broom and buy a steam mop, especially if the... Read more

With storage tray and 8 microfiber pads (Kitchen) I have been wanting one for a while, my sister in law said it is the only thing that can get hair spray off her bathroom floor- which it does. Other reviews I read said it isn't great for everyday cleaning because you can't get the corners great, but I use it everyday anyway. So that may only be true if you have super bad OCD, then you may have to pull out the broom. But if there is something along the baseboards that I want or in a corner I use my broom to sweep it into the path of the shark. I love my shark!

With storage tray and 8 microfiber pads (Kitchen) The vacuum part works wonderful and the steam starts quickly.. The only issue I had was that no smell was left behind-- like Pine Sol or one of those.. So I sprayed a little Pine Sol on the floor and then steamed!!! Loved it!!!
